Powerscourt Estate

It was only a 5 minute drive over to the Powerscourt Estate. The mile long drive to the house is lined with trees. The house was originally a 13th century castle and was renovated in the mid-1700's.  In 1974 there was a big fire that left the building as a shell and in 1996 it was renovated. Today it's a popular tourist attraction, includes a golf course, restaurant, shops, and the Rit.z Carlto.n is located here.  The estate is still family owned. Its also the home to one of the greatest dollhouses of the world besides Queen Mary's dollhouse at Windsor Castle.
